Out Doors

Scouting provides many opportunities for young men ages 11 through 18 to help plan and participate in rugged outdoor adventures. From day hikes to campo rees and summer camp, the troop plans activities that match the interests and abilities of the Scouts. Older Scouts may participate in high-adventure programs such as rock climbing, rappelling, and whitewater rafting. Younger Scouts may attend summer camp and learn teamwork within their patrol and troop. Summer camp blends fun program with advancement requirements to reinforce skills learned throughout the year. In Scouting, fitness is fun with a purpose.

We have two permanent camp sites, one in Scales Mound, IL. Witch is a 500 acre farm growing corn, grapes, and beans. The farm also has cows, sheep as well as a 3 acre stocked lake. This is a grate place for boys and adults as well. The other is 2 acre on the back side of a farm in Burrett Town ship north west of Rockford on the Peck River. This is a very remote site “4 wheel drive or hike in”.
