Upon This Rock Cooperative Parish proudly participates in the Northern Illinois Emmaus Community. The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. People are invited to attend a 72-hour retreat that begins on a Thursday night and ends on Sunday evening. It is led by a combination of lay people and clergy and is supported through prayer from people and groups from around the world.
Evans 4th Day Reunion Group
The Evans Fourth Day group meets at the church at 6:00 p.m. on the 4th of every month except July. We enjoy a potluck and then work on the group’s chosen project. The 2011 project is the sorting, cleaning, and organizing of various areas of the church. Everyone is welcome. Please join us.
“Chrysalis” is the name chosen for the youth and young adult version of The Walk to Emmaus. Chrysalis “Flights” (for 10th through 12th graders) and “Journeys” (for young adults, ages 15-21) are three-day events. This three-day spiritual renewal time provides an opportunity for you to learn more about faith, to experience Christian love and support, and to make new faith commitments.
