Upon This Rock Cooperative Parish Three United Methodist Churches Cooperating for Jesus Christ |
Congregational Redevelopment Implementation Team
CRIT has been one of those behind the scenes groups which has been learning and working to bring healthy and vitality to our churches and the Cooperative.
Several members from all three churches began this venture of learning and visioning and growing in thear faith and the understanding and knowledge of bringing new life and a passion for ministry into our churches. We began meeting in October of 2003 and will comtinue in this training through April of 2006. These committed members have hiven up many hours to travel all over our conference for these trainings. And I pray that you will lift them in prayer and pray God's Spirit continue to guide us all.
Two of the main foci are on "Natural Church Development" and "Appreciative Inquiry". Natural Church Development is a system used around the world to assist in discovering the strengths and growth areas in our churches of we may strengthen our growth areas and become healthier churches. Appreciative Inquiry or "AI" is the process by which we discover what have been high points and growing moments in our history, unearh the elements which empowered the to be such and then claim those elements for present and future ministry.
Our Sermon Series on Passionate Spirituality was part of our education and in January there will be a sermon series on Evangelism.
Our CRIT group continues to join with several other congregation's teams to learn, share and vision God's dream for the church. This group is also responsible to direct the use of the Redevelopment Grant Funds our Cooperative has been the recipient of from the Northern Illinois Conference. CRIT members are working to bring about renewal and revival in our churches and pray that ypu will work with them as we deepen our faith and reach out to those not yet here.
